A Church with Vision

Bethany Community Church is a church with a vision; a vision of what our future will be like. Month-to-month and year-to-year that vision may change as we adjust our plans, but four aspects of our vision will never change:

Each of these aspects of vision applies not only to our church as a whole, but to the individuals who attend and/or are members of our church. These are what we strive for.

Our Mission:

Join Jesus. Show Others.

Our mission answers the questions, “Why do we exist?” and “What are we supposed to be doing?” The essence of the gospel of Jesus Christ is to join him (to follow him,) to make the pursuit of Jesus Christ the foremost goal of our lives. A person and a church that has joined Jesus is always looking how to live more like him, to do the things that he wants us to do, to love as he loved.

If we have joined him, then we want to show others Jesus; showing him as our Lord, our Savior, and our God. We love Jesus so much that we just have to show and tell others how he brought fulfillment to our lives and how he can do the same for them.

Our Values:

Love that is sincere

Grace that is generous to all

Truth from God that is foundational

Community that is authentic

Service as a lifestyle

Our values are our shared convictions that guide our actions. These five values emanate from the core of our beliefs about God. We passionately pursue our vision together being bound by these values.

Our Strategy:

Get In - To a relationship with God

Get Together - With other Christ followers

Get Out - Cultivate friendships with people far from God

Get Serving - Use our time, talent and treasure to meet real needs

Our strategy is the actions that we will do to accomplish our mission of “Join Jesus. Show Others.” By doing these steps in our strategy, we will come closer to achieving our mission, and demonstrating our values.

Serving others

Our measures help us to evaluate ourselves, both as individuals and as a church body, on how we are doing in accomplishment of our mission, “Join Jesus. Show Others.”

Walking daily with Jesus includes talking to him (prayer), listening to him (reading the Bible,) and other spiritual disciplines that help us to be more like him. Growing together with other Christ followers for discipleship, support and/or service is important to Jesus. Cultivating friendships with people far from God will put us into a position where God can work through us to bring people to himself. In serving others we become the hands and feet of Jesus in our world, showing his love through our actions.

In uncertain times, it’s hard to know the future. But at Bethany Community Church, we have a vision of the future.
