Community Outreach

Whatever you did for the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me ~ Matthew 25:40 ~

The mission statement of Community Outreach Ministries is "Serving Our Neighbors Like Jesus". How did Jesus serve? He entered into local communities, meeting physical needs with amazing love and sharing God's amazing grace. Our goal is to inspire, equip and encourage the people of Bethany to use Jesus as our model for sharing our unique passions and abilities with the helpless and hopeless.

Bethany has adopted two aspects of the Urban Outreach program: Bethany's Egg Brigade (weekly) and Bethany's Night at Urban Outreach Evenings (second Wednesday night of every month). You are welcome to participate with us as God leads.

SUMMER 2010 NEW IMMEDIATE OPPORTUNITY:

Urban Outreach is working with several other organizations in Tempe in a new program -- Tempe’s Permanent Supportative Housing Pilot.  Details on this program are in the process of being put on the Urban Outreach’s website.  For some general information with the partnerships involved, check out the United Way Website.
Please contact Robin Manelis for more information on Urban Outreach’s involvement (rmanelis@cox.net or 602.577.7976)
You can immediately be involved by donating items to help furnish the apartments.  Most of these people are starting with “nothing.”  Anything that would be used in “setting up house” is welcome.  Specifically, things like:  sofas, love seats, chairs, beds (mattress and box springs), book shelves, small desks, kitchen tables and chairs, coffee tables, end tables, lamps, TVs, TV stands, microwaves, vacuums, dishes, any small kitchen appliance, silverware, pots/pans.  You get the idea, right.
